Description:
This book aims to help learners of English (particularly those whose first language is Chinese) improve their understanding of, and their competence in, English grammar. It directly address the needs of Chinese learners and take full account of their first language in helping them understand how English works by systematically requiring them to think about grammar, and to come up with their own hypotheses about how it works on the basis of the given data.

It's impossible to find books on learning English for a Chinese person. My wife is Chinese, but except for the Oxford Pictorial Dictionary in Chinese/English, there seems to be no books for Chinese people to learn English, at least in the U.S. So I jumped at this book, only to find out it is not a good book for a Chinese person to learn Chinese.

You have to know English to be able to read this book. I know enough Chinese myself, and when I look through this book, there is virtually no usefulness to a Chinese person.

What we need is Chinese characters by all words and concepts, NOT English! Next time we go to China we'll bring back many books on learning English. Don't waste your money on this one.
